What is Permanent Make Up and Microblading

What Is Permanent Make Up

Permanent Make Up is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent cosmetic pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup.

The cosmetic implantation technique deposits coloured pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis.

Permanent Make Up is primarily used for purposes of cosmetic eyeliners and Lip Liners. It is also very popular to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalis, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo.

Although not as popular, Permanent Make Up is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, such as after breast surgery or to correct any asymmetries of the Areola.

Most commonly called Permanent Make Up, other names include derma-pigmentation, micro-pigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing, the latter being most appropriate since Permanent Make up is, in fact, cosmetic tattooing in its basic form.

Permanent Make Up / Cosmetic procedures can be very subtle or dramatic depending on what the clients / patients specific requirements are. Procedures include but are not limited to:

– Eyebrows
– Eyeliner, Top & Bottom
– Lip Liner
–  Microblading

Prior to any enhancement procedure clients / patients will receive a comprehensive consultation during which they will be given the opportunity to discuss the results they wish to achieve and how permanent cosmetic make-up can enhance their appearance.

Procedures take from 30 to 120 minutes. Topical local anaesthesia is often used prior to the procedure which makes the procedure less painful. If topical anaesthesia is not used, the procedure can be regarded as uncomfortable to a certain degree.

Immediately after, all procedures may initially appear brighter or darker than desired, but will fade to the desired colour over several days / weeks.

Some procedures may also appear crusty for a few days. Procedure areas will be swollen for 2 – 3 days thereafter depending on the individual, which is considered normal. Some clients barely experience swelling at all.

Permanent Cosmetic Procedures is a solution more and more women – and a growing number of men – are selecting to enhance and correct various features of their bodies without resorting to cosmetic surgery.
